City Bash
DSF City Bash
Each year, DSF designates one special gala or benefit evening as their signature event—City Bash. Previously hosted in New York City, Boston, and most recently San Francisco, City Bash unites advocates, families, industry partners, and supporters from across the country to celebrate the Dravet community. As this event travels to cities nationwide, it embraces the unique spirit and culture of each location, offering an opportunity to connect with local families. This memorable evening is not only a celebration but also a critical fundraiser to support DSF’s research, programs, and resources.
In 2024, City Bash – titled A Night Among the Stars – took place in San Francisco and was hosted by two local families, the Coombes and the Changs. They shared heartfelt stories about their children who are both living with Dravet syndrome. With over 200 guests in attendance, the event raised more than $320,000 for the cause. The evening featured a formal program honoring Dr. Joseph Sullivan, a local neurologist and Dravet syndrome specialist at UCSF, for his exceptional dedication to the community. Afterward, Grammy-nominated artist James Henry lit up the night with live music, keeping the crowd dancing until the end. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Looking ahead, the 2025 City Bash will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, on Thursday, May 1, at SPIN Boston. This exciting evening promises fun, fundraising, and Ping Pong—yes, Ping Pong! Who says galas have to be formal and stiff? Click here for more information.
