We are dedicated to the wise stewardship of your gift. That’s why we’ve partnered with FreeWill – a public benefit company trusted by 1350+ nonprofit partners–to provide secure, no-cost planning tools and charitable giving options to our supporters.

Donor Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are investment accounts for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations. If you have a DAF, you can use this secure online tool.

This online tool empowers you to make a targeted impact by recommending how you’d like your grant to be allocated, communicating your wishes to DSF, sharing the details of your DAF grant, and navigating to your DAF provider. It’s also a great way to ensure our organization has consistent financial support while saving cash for immediate needs.

Give from your IRA

If you are 70.5 or older and have a traditional IRA, you can use this secure online tool to make a donation from your IRA account. IRA gifts are generally not recognized as taxable income and if you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) this year, giving from your IRA is a compassionate way to fulfill it.

Using this online tool, you can learn more and fill out the forms from your IRA custodian in just a few minutes, or print out the forms to fill them out offline.

Stock Gifts

Donating stocks allows you to avoid the capital gains tax and if you itemize deductions, you can also take a charitable deduction for the entire donation amount. We’ve invested in this secure online tool that enables you to donate your appreciated assets in 10 minutes.

Crypto Donations

We now accept donations of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies! This gives us one more way to fund our work and can provide you with extra tax benefits.

Donation Matching

Many corporations match donations made by employees to nonprofits. Last year these matching gift programs helped DSF identify $60,849 in Match-Eligible dollars, potentially doubling or tripling the impact of DSF supporter gifts and allowing us to do more for the people we serve.

If you have given (or plan to give) a gift to DSF, check to see if your employer has a matching gift program using the tool below. For specific information, please see our Matching Gifts page.

Legacy Giving

There are many ways you can leave a legacy gift and help sustain DSF, while providing significant tax benefits for your family and heirs. In addition to an outright, tax-deductible cash gift, there are other ways you can support our mission:

  • a bequest in your will or living trust
  • a beneficiary designation on a life insurance policy, 401(k) plan, or IRA
  • an endowment
  • gifts of stock or other assets
  • life estate gifts

If you choose to name DSF in your will or other estate planning, please include the following information:

Dravet Syndrome Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Connecticut and with the address of P.O. Box 3026, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

Tax identification number: 27-0924627

Designation language example: “I give to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, a tax-exempt corporation, with its principal business office at P.O. Box 3026, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 (insert written amount of gift, percentage of estate or residuary of estate or description of property) to be used for the mission of the organization.”
