Mike lives in San Francisco, CA with his wife Kira and their daughter Mila – who has Dravet syndrome. Mila was diagnosed in November 2023, after prolonged, intractable seizures at daycare. Despite Dravet Syndrome, Mila is a charismatic and curious two year old who delights in learning, exploring, and driving the family cat, Petunia, crazy by chasing her all over the house.
The Dravet Syndrome Foundation has been a tremendous resource to Mike and Kira as they have navigated the diagnosis and care for a child with Dravet. Mike is honored to serve the organization as a board member and believes that DSF is uniquely positioned in the rare disease community to drive meaningful progress towards better treatments and a future cure for Dravet. Mike is particularly passionate about using advanced technology to drive progress in Dravet management and treatment.
Mike is a recovering deep tech venture capitalist who is now building a company at the intersection of microelectronics and everyday objects. His work is inspired by the challenges his family has faced trying to care for Mila. In his free time, Mike enjoys reading scientific non-fiction, running, and everything and anything aviation related.
