DSF Bereavement Fund

We understand that losing a child is one of life’s most challenging experiences, and during this difficult time, we aim to provide support to those in need. The DSF Bereavement Fund was created to support individuals and families who need financial assistance to cover funeral or related expenses for their child or adult with Dravet syndrome. The fund offers a one-time grant of $1,000 to families in the U.S. to offer some relief, allowing families to focus on what matters most—remembering and honoring their loved ones.

  • This fund is available beginning on February 1, 2025, and provides a single grant of $1,000 to bereaved families within 6 months of their loss.
  • It is available exclusively to families in the U.S. who are a part of the DSF Family Network.
  • Funds may only be distributed to the parent or legal guardian of the deceased.
  • There are no income restrictions for eligibility.
  • The grant may be used as the family wishes to support them through bereavement and to honor the memory of their child. Some of the ways the grant may be used include, but are not limited to: funeral costs, time for the family to get away for a short time, memorial bench, other memorial event or item(s) etc.
  • No reporting back to DSF is required

If you or someone you know is experiencing the loss of a loved one and could benefit from this support, we encourage you to apply.
