DSF Parent Ambassador

Laura Fahy

Laura is a New Jersey native and mom to two daughters, Leah (9), who lives with Dravet syndrome, and Bailey (4). Together with her husband, Matt, she navigates the daily challenges of raising a medically complex child. Leah was diagnosed with Dravet syndrome at age three, but if you meet her, the first thing you’ll notice is not her diagnosis. It’s her big personality.

Laura is a recent graduate with her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and has worked as a Sleep Technologist for the past 10 years. She brings both professional training and lived experience into her advocacy, with a strong focus on children, families, and participation in everyday life. Laura is deeply passionate about advocacy through education and believes that awareness leads to understanding, and understanding helps families feel more supported and less alone. By sharing honest, real-life experiences, she aims to build connection and show the human side of Dravet syndrome.

Outside of advocacy and healthcare, Laura enjoys crocheting, strength training at the gym, reading, playing all kinds of games, painting, and anything related to musicals and music. She is honored to support and stand alongside other Dravet families in her role as a Family Network Ambassador.
