Hi my name is Ericka I am 26 years old and was blessed with my precious Royall on August 18. My son was diagnosed with Dravet syndrome in December, it has been a rough road expecially when you have no knowledge of it, but I am a women of strong faith and I highly believe we will get through this fight. My family and I love to go on long drives for fun. We love being on the road, just seeing new things visiting new places. My kids bring me so much joy. Them being happy and blessed just lightens my world. I have so many goals in life but my main goal at this moment is fight this fight with my precious son Royall! Even in your darkest day they say just turn to the light. I have faith that we will find my son a cure.
When did Royall’s seizures begin?
My son’s first sezuire was in December 13, 2020. He was 3 month old.
What is your family’s hope for your future? For the Dravet community?
My hope is that my son would live a normal life, and that we will find him a cure and stop him from seizing. I have strong faith so I don’t ever think negative.
What advice do you have for newly diagnosed families?
My advice to them is keep you faith up because in this battle that’s all you have – don’t let doctors tell you otherwise! This is a battle we HAVE to win. Don’t ever give up, there is always something else to try and most importantly REMEBER WHO YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR!
