Join us for a workshop on health insurance basics, led by Jennifer Shumsky, BSN, RN, CHCO, PACS, on Thursday, October 26th at 3pm ET.
Jennifer is a registered nurse with years of experience working as a Utilization Review Specialist in the insurance industry. She has experience with Medicare, self-insured/employer health plans, and commercial plans, with a focus on appeals and prior authorizations. She has worked with Rare disease advocacy organizations helping to educate their communities about insurance and access issues.
As the parent of a 22-year-old son with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and a 18-year-old daughter with Type 1 Diabetes, Jennifer knows about the challenges faced by patients and families affected by rare and chronic health conditions. Her passion is helping others get what is needed to live their healthiest and happiest lives possible.
