Brenda Tisdale – IL Midwest

Brenda Tisdale – Illinois

Brenda lives in Homewood,IL with her husband Mark and daughter Addison. Addison, now 12, was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome when she was two and a half years old. Brenda is a stay at home mom who also has a side business that was started after Addison’s diagnosis. Addison’s Tutu Bowtique began in 2013 after she attended her first “Steps Towards A Cure” walk. Brenda made purple hair bows for “Addison’s Pigtail Team” now known as “Addison’s Superhero’s Team”. What began as a way to support Addison has flourished into a successful business that keeps expanding! Brenda hosted her first “Steps Towards A Cure” walk in 2023 and helped raise approximately $10,000.00 for the Dravet Syndrome foundation. She is so excited to plan next year’s walk in 2024.

Brenda and her family enjoy traveling the states for the biannual Dravet Conferences. She says “it’s nice to go to events where others understand the life of Dravet”. She has made so many lasting friendships along this journey. In her free time she enjoys working out, spending time with friends and family, and planning her family’s next Disney trip.
