Are you looking for a fun way to give back to DSF and help raise awareness of Dravet syndrome? Consider hosting a Steps Toward a Cure event!
DSF Steps Toward a Cure is a series of family-friendly events that raise awareness and funds while celebrating our Dravet superheroes. These events take place throughout the year, primarily in the fall, in communities nationwide. As an event coordinator, you play a very important role in the success of DSF by raising both funds and awareness for Dravet syndrome. Coordinating an event is a fun and easy way to bring families and friends together to support a great cause. You will be amazed at the generosity and support from your community.
Our Coordinator Handbook will provide you with a solid overview of the event planning process. To host an event, you will complete a coordinator application, and after approval, DSF covers the cost of your site, raffle permit (if needed), and any additional event fees. Misty Ried, our Campaign Director, is available to help you throughout the planning and execution of your entire event, including:
- setting up a registration and fundraising portal;
- helping you secure in-kind donations;
- helping with promotion of event;
- answering questions & troubleshooting event issues;
- sending registration reports for event check-in;
- and sending all items needed for the day of your event – shirts, banners, signage, registration materials, etc.
DSF wants to make sure your experience planning a Steps Toward a Cure event is easy, fun, and rewarding. And, if you are not sure if you are ready to commit to hosting an event, there are other ways to get involved. You can volunteer or register for another event, or even become a sponsor.
